Carers premium

I recently applied for Carers allowance and income support. My IS claim has now started and I received a letter to say that although I was entitled to carers allowance that amount had already been paid out as jobseekers allowance so I would not actually be getting any payments. Now I was informed at the jobcentre that I would be entitled to carers premium on my IS and was led to believe it would be paid out from the carers allowance people. How do I find out about this? Does anyone have any ideas on how long its likely to take? My IS claim started about four weeks ago now and so far nothing. Thank you for any help

You ought to be getting £72.40 IS + £34.20 Care prem on top £106.60/week. Not sure why DWP are saying otherwise.

the amount is correct, but you are slightly wrong with how it is paid.
carers allowance will be paid and then topped up to £72.40 by IS and then a varers premium added.
it will go into the bank in 2 seperate pauments.
carers allowance ( usually weekly) and IS with the carers premium ( fortnightly)
  • you get the IS+carers preium less the actual ca which is paid seperately, confusing yes but adds up to the same amount

What date has the CA been awarded from?
What dates was JSA in payment from and to?
What date has IS been awarded from?

How much have you already received on each of these benefits from the date the CA has been awarded from?

    CA was awarded from 07/04
    JSA claim ended 24/04
IS claim started 29/05 with nothing in between those times due to a mix up at the jobcentre.

According to the letter from CA from 07/04 to 29/06 I was entitled to 61.35 pw CA (total £736.20) but recieved that amount as JSA so they dont have anything left to pay.
