Hi
I got an unsolicited PIN reminder from MBNA this morning. Has this happened to anyone else? I use my card nearly every day so why do I need reminding of the PIN?! I'm not very impressed about the security aspect of this

hi i had one from virgin (mbna), i think its an icentive to use the card more,
strange i know!0 -
Yeh, I've had several over the years.0

I believe I had one when Chip and Pin card was issued, but not since then. The PIN is checkable via the online site I believe, so no need to send postal reminders unless requested.
Personally I would phone them (It's a free call, see back of card) and ask why a reminder was sent. I believe they note everything on your account as it happens, so they can tell you if someone requested it or not. It is worth the call in case there is something dodgy going on.0 -
your probably going to be reissued with a new card soon. Is your present card due to expire in next few months?0

Hint If you never use your credit card for cash withdrawals then get yourself Chip & Signature. You continue to sign and you don't have to worry about 'PIN Negligence' if and when things go wrong.0

I got one reminder this morning as well, althought I never use it at all, the old one still in the file. Mine is Conran card.0

Got one too for my conran card. They must have spotted that I have stopped using it and thought a PIN reminder would convince me to spend spend spend. Little do they realise it will be closed this month.0

The best PIN reminder you'll ever get:
Scott-Hubbard, 64, and computer programmer Warburton, 53, were arrested after a modified chip and pin machine was discovered at a Shell garage in London. Later analysis revealed that Warburton had fitted it with pin-retaining software.
