Can I claim?

My daughter has a hearing impairment, 60% and 80% hearing loss.
She was diagnosed at age 7, but I have reading up and could possibly claim DLA for her (which I have never done, didn't know if I could).
I would use this money to get extra tuition in English and Maths as is she is 12 has an age of 8 in these areas.
Would this be classed as DLA and would she qualify?
Thanks

Hello,
DLA is for care and mobility needs so if she has care needs above and beyond that of a child of the same age without the hearing impairment or mobility needs above and beyond then she may qualify.
The DLA is not linked to a diagnosis but to actual care and mobility needs over and above a 'normal' expectation for the same age.
I hope that helps?0 -
Here is a link for you to read through to see if your child meets the requirement:

Many thanks to you both. It's is very good link and has give me food for thought.
Even though its only her hearing with a few behavioural issues, there are more kids out there that need the DLA more than me.
