Parkshield have issued me a CCJ for unpaid private parking charges, Please help.

Options
I have received numerous tickets parking at the work car park in Birmingham. I was told to ignore them as apparently nothing would be done.. about 2 weeks ago I received a claim from Northampton County Court where Parkshield have used 'money law' & I will be issued a CCJ. When I rang the court they said that I shouldn't receive a CCJ for a parking ticket & now I need to sort it out. 2 others in the office have recently applied for credit & even though they paid their fines they have CCJ's on record. The total amount I owe them is £860 and I cannot afford this. Please help.

Don't worry, others will be along soon to help you. By the way you don't owe them £860.00 they just say you do.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Hi darren - You say that you received the papers about 2 weeks ago, when exactly? Additionally, have you logged on to the Moneyclaim Online website and opted to defend the case?
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

You need to acknowledge the claim online and say you WILL defend in full and NOT contest jurisdiction. Then see the links in the NEWBIES thread post #5 - ONLY post #5 of it. After reading the links, you'll have a fair idea how to write your defence and what happens when, and how/when to ask the local court for POPLA instead, etc.

Do please read post #5 of the NEWBIES thread - I have just added another link there to bartos1976's thread; he has been following my advice, got to a hearing date allocated, sent one letter to the Judge and got his case stayed for POPLA instead!
