Even I tip only when I am satisfied with my haircut but my hairstylist doesn't take tip when I try to offer him he stops me for doing that.
  • I would leave a tip just to say thank you! £2 seems a fair amount and I am sure the student would be appreciative :)

I've had colours done at a local salon by an apprentice who needed a model for colour - took 4 hours for a tsection a d I was pleased with it and she passed her assessment. I was not charged for the appointment or colours so did give her a £10 tip which she was very excited about.

My hairdresser charges £22.50 for a cut and finish so I usually give £25.

I'd think a £2 tip would be good for a student if you are pleased with the cut.

Yes, the college hairdressing students would love tips if you are happy with the service.

Personally I would leave them a small tip.

Please do leave a student a tip if you are happy with you service, even a pound would make their day. it also boosts their confidence as the tip proves to them that they have given you a great service.
