Hi im looking for some advice on airline credit cards ... im going travelling to new zealnad next year and doing a couple of other flights around that time to hong kong singapore areas etc... then later in the year when im back at work im doing a couple of holidays not sure where yet but have an idea maybe one to europe and one to dubai .... i need to borrow the money for the new zealand flights though and pay it off end of next year (going new zealand in jan) .... i take it from what i have read on here that the airline cards for frequent flyers have to be paid back every month in full ?? but not 100 % sure on what i read... can anyone clarify this as i take it the airline card wouldnt be any use to me because of this ??? there was also a section on here that said about the tesco 0% spending card for 19 months o% returns avios points as well so this could be an option but i dont know how this card works with these points and whether its worth it compared to the airline credit cards benefits??? what are avios points and how do they work ???
thanks for your help

I don't think there are any airline cards which have a 0% period, which means if you were to get one, you could pay it off over say 12 months, 18 months, but you'd have to pay interest on that.
As for the Tesco 0% card, you get 0% interest for 19 months on purchases, meaning you could pay it off over 19 months and incur no extra cost. You get clubcard points, 1 per £4 spend. Every 250 clubcard points (£1000 spend) earns you 600 avios points. Typically an international flight will cost you a minimum of 60,000 avios points.
Basically, given the short time span, it won't be worth you aiming to get miles. You'd be better off just getting a 0% purchases card, so get the Tesco one as you get clubcard points.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.
ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.0
