I realise I'm impinging on your debate but...

There is nothing in the T&Cs or website to say they accept people with poor credit like a basic bank provided by one of larger players.

I'd say it's a standard current account without an overdraft facility.

This would suggest to me they accept people with poor credit history except for bankrupts.

    It's hardly definitive evidence.

You think that Virgin are aiming to attract 'valuable' basic account holders? ;)

You would care so that you could inform other members of this forum as to whom exactly they are aiming the account at.

Or don't you want to help other forum members?

Even if i was inclined to waste my time calling to check on an account I don't want, do you really think they will tell their credit scoring methodology? ;)

If you had actually worked in banking, you'd be aware that sub-prime customers with defaults etc are often costly to manage and generally not profitable.

During my conversation with Virgin they confirmed the account was targeted at people with adverse credit history.

Im personally an old northern rock customer and was asking to what my account would be become with all the new changes they just said they would write to me in due course.

No sadly I don't have a cushy bank job, sadly I have to deal with people at there worse or even dying.....!!!

You could also say the same about patients in certain demographics of society some will be more costly than others!!

Oh and trust me certain middle class and wealthy people can be far worse and cost more than those you would consider to be on the poorer end of the scale.

This was confirmed to me also when I asked whom the account was targeted at.

I'm also waiting to find out what they will be doing with my old northern rock account.
