Credit card use online

Your card company is dragging their feet. They should deal with the amount at once and issue you with a new card with a different number. Be very firm with them and if need be escalate it up the chain of command.notrobinB40 wrote: »My Mastercard has just been the subject of £900 online fraud which the bank say they will resolve before my next monthly payment is due.
With card spending limits creeping ever upwards, is it possible to get a credit card with a very low limit of say £100 to £150 for all those small online purchases, leaving your regular credit card secure for everyday use?0 -

Why do they need to deal with it at once, it's their money that's at risk now not the OP's? And I'd be surprised if they haven't already cancelled the card and issued a new one, the OP hasn't said so but that would be standard practice for any issuer.0 -

Only on one occasion was the card changed in my case. For other fraudulent transactions they were simply reversed but I continued to use the card as normal. I think it depends on the type of fraud. With me they have always been online transactions (online topups, dodgy paypals etc), though in the case where the card was replaced it was fraud within the bank.0 -

Fair enough, the only time it happened to me my card was cloned so it had to be cancelled and reissued, so perhaps it doesn't happen in other circumstances.0
