Thanks for the post.
I saw this on my FB newsfeed and entered from there.
This morning I have an email from Amazon telling me that I must reset my password as my account may have been the subject of a phishing scam?
I have therefore had to change my password.
I never ever ever click on links sent in emails and have not used my Amazon account for about a month, the only thing I have done is enter this competition? The best things in life are free.....0 -

Definitely 100% genuine, had my full name on. I did not click on any links in the email but went in to Amazon through Google. When I clicked to log in, LastPass had my password saved and it would not let me log in with my old password.
It started
Dear Mrs X X XXXXXXXXX
This is an important message from Amazon.co.uk
As a precaution, we've reset your Amazon.co.uk password because you may have been subject to a "phishing" scam.
Here's how phishing works:
A scam artist sends an e-mail, which is designed to look like it came from a reputable company such as a bank, financial institution, or retailer like Amazon.co.uk, but is in fact a forgery. These e-mails direct you to a website that looks remarkably similar to the reputable company's website, where you are asked to provide account information such as your e-mail address and password. Since that website is actually controlled by the phisher, they get the information you entered.
Go to amazon.co.uk/phish to read more about ways to protect yourself from phishing.
To regain access to your Amazon customer account:
1. Go to Amazon.co.uk and click the "Your Account" link at the top of our website.
2. Under Account Settings, click the link that says "Forgotten your password?"
3. Follow the instructions to set a new password for your account.
Please choose a new password and do not use the same password you used with us previously. If you have used the same password for your email account as on your Amazon.co.uk account, you should also change your email account password to prevent phishers from reading and/or stealing your emails.
I hope this helps.
We look forward to seeing you again soon at Amazon.co.uk
Sincerely,
Amazon.co.ukThe best things in life are free.....0 -

Hmm, that is odd.
I'm hoping it's just a coincidence, as the link goes to the official Amazon website. Are you sure the Facebook post was from Amazon?0 -

Yes I am pretty sure. It had the usual set up for the Facebook comps and asks you to put in your phone number at the end.
As you say it may just be a coincidence. The best things in life are free.....0 -

Logged into Amazon first, then copied the link and the page looked OK, but when I clicked enter I got the message:
Looking for something?
We're sorry. The Web address you entered is not a functioning page on our site.
Go to Amazon.co.uk's Home Page
Update: the above was in Chrome. Tried in IE11 and it worked OK0 -
Wasn't it Amazon where we all had to reset our passwords last month? If it was and the poster hasn't used the site and done that voluntarily, they may have forced a reset.
PS - I entered in chrome and didn't get the message in the post immediately above.Thank you to everyone who posts on the competitions boards. You all rock!0
