These regulations don't apply to financial services.

Hmmm... weekday, daytime calls only used to cost 2.04p/min (plus connection) from my BT landline.

Now they cost 8.95p/min (plus connection) from my BT landline; over 4 times more

    What a RIP OFF!!!

I've been calling First Direct on 0113 2345678 for years...
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning

Ofcom have ruled that 03 numbers must be charged the same as 01 or 02 numbers, and must be included in inclusive call packages, both landlines and mobiles, so if you are charged more than this you should complain to your phone provider and report them to Ofcom.

0845 was introduced as a lo-call number. Calls to 01, 02 and 03 numbers cost over 4 times more per minute (where chargable) than 0845 numbers using a BT landline.

It's BT ripping you off, not First Direct, or who-ever you're ringing. Probably time to look round for a cheaper telephone provider, or change your call package/tariff to a better one.
