PPI payout dilemma - please help?

Options
HI
I wrote to my credit card co way back and they rejected my claim based on the details provided. So I went to a PPI claims agency and they took on my case but heard nothing from them so far. Yesterday, I received a letter direct from my credit card co saying they had 'reassessed" my original claim and in the interests of customer relations (etc etc blah copy-paste) enclosed a cheque for £1500. Sort of coincidental.

So, what should I do?

A) cash the cheque and move on with my life
B) inform my PPI claim agent and potentially loose a slice of the £1500
C) Do nothing until I hear from PPI claims agency

Cash the cheque but pay the claims co, if you do not pay them they will take you to court.

    Thx for reply

Given the Agency didn't send me the cheque and the Credit card company stated they reassessed my 'original claim' by my reckoning agency haven't done squat and don't deserve a cut. Should I not simply instruct them to stand down as I wish to withdraw my claim via them?

Maybe the agency will write saying "Hi, you should have by now received a cheque from your credit card company as a direct result of our actions in representing your case. Under our contract you are now obliged to cut us xx% of the $1500"??

Maybe I should wait until the agency show me evidence that it was them who prompted the refund?

It is a bummer I know, as claims companies, as you now know , do Jack with claims, but still expect a cut, you can only hope that the bank has not informed them of this win, if they have, you will have to pay the fee.
Wait and see if they contact you, they will I am sure.

No company sends the redress to the CMC first. It goes to the person complaining who then pay the CMC out of the redress, before any tax was removed.
The companies usually inform the CMCs that redress has been paid, then the CMCs contact you later.

As amersall says you have to pay them or risk a court case.

It doesn't matter they did nothing or that this payout wasn't prompted by them, you stil have to pay. If you cancel their services [services - ha!] then they will probably charge yu a fee for exiting the contract, which the MoJ says has to be 'reasonable'. That could be a few hundred itself.

This problem is posted every few days and the answer is always the same. You'll have to pay them.
