This concept of "affordable housing" is a load of bullsh*t if the reputation of our MPs is anything to go by.

Just how exactly does this work without prices in general falling? Unless these properties are highly subsidised at the taxpayers expense, how do they propose to undercut what is already a hugely expensive bottom end to the market? It doesn't make sense.

Is this going to be one big shared equity scam approved by the government?

I have visions of a new home-'owner' sub-class. If their only hope of ownership is a heavily subsidised scheme to place aspiring youngsters into properties that are likely to be poorly constructed and poorly located - then what hope do they have of upsizing to a comfortable family home if the prices of these remain far out of reach?

They're spinning to the media that they'll assist grateful youngsters with that first step onto the "property ladder", yet the whole concept of this without prices falling in general is just a fantasy.

Once again, it's all BULLSH*T AND SPIN.

They should just bloody admit that prices at every level are unacceptable.

I'm not even going to bother reading your thread any more. You're ignorant.

Well enlighten me then ... Isn't that what these forums are all about ... expressing opinions .. debate ? A reply such as yours shows you to be the ignorant one as you didn't reply with a reasoned answer.... either that or you are just plain lazy :p

Heavily tax BTL , that would do it. It'd stop the muppets like the one I saw on the telly yesterday who has 3 BTLs & does it "for a hobby."

No need to tax it heavily. Just tax it.

Oh I forgot. Both Cherie B & Sarah B are into BtL, along with hordes of MPs and their wives.
