PPI Angst with Lloyds

Options
I am currently in week 5 of my complaint against LLoyds loan PPI. I phoned to see how my complaint was going this morning and was told by the bank that it was resolved and I was going to "get some good news". The line broke up quite badly at the end of the call so I phoned back this evening to clarify details and was told... actually case is still "on going, no decision has been made." I am perfectly happy to wait the stated 8 weeks for a decision, but I am furious that I was given false hope this morning and had allowed myself to feel quite happy about it! Has anyone else experienced a similar situation?

There's no point ringing anyone about a complaint until you've received no info after 8 weeks.

Thanks for the swift reply taff. I will wait it out and not count any chickens until I get a final decision in writing. Lesson well and truly learnt!

Is it worth writing a letter of complaint? I still feel aggrieved that I was told my complaint had been upheld, only to have the wind knocked out of my sails a few hours later. It seems quite unforgiveably unprofessional for the Lloyds employee to make such a glaring error. Thanks again for your advice

You rang them, they didn't simply offer the information to you. The call centre operator probably just wanted you off the 'phone and obviously just told you what you wanted to hear.

Just have patience and wait for them to respond fully and finally to your concerns. You cannot hurry them by pestering them with 'phone calls and complaining further.

They have eight weeks to consider your complaint, just sit back and allow them this time.

What do you hope to achieve by writing a letter of complaint?

I merely wanted to express my dissatisfaction with the way my call was dealt with. Rather than lie, the call handler just had to tell me the the complaint was ongoing. I woud have got of the phone just as quickly (quicker probably...)

You may well have mis heard if you had a bad line. You said yourself the line broke up quite badly.
    Lines don't Suddenly break up.

You weren't actually told 'your complaint has been upheld'
