What would be the likely cost of replacing 4 complete door frames and doors?


I have bought the doors but haven't bought anything else such as arcitriving etc. Do I need a joiner or a builder?


I live in the Doncaster area

No idea of the cost, but just get a few quotes and pick the person you feel is best. Someone recommended is best.

Builders will tell you they can do it. And they probably could. But I wold get a joiner / carpenter. They will do a better job.

Don't forget the cost of the door furniture, handles, latches, hinges, locks - it does add up.

Based on the rate of work of the carpenter we have used in the past - who has not rushed and has done a good job. I reckon it will take 15./2 days to hang the 4 doors. The frames will add a bit more. So maybe 2.5/3 days work in total. So it just depends what the daily rate for a carpenter is. Around my way, I would expect to pay £600-700. But I would assume the daily rate is quite a bit lower for yourself.

But as pointed out, the best way to find out is to get several quotes. You might even be able to get quotes without them seeing the job as it is pretty standard work for them.

It is all getting a bit pricey but am wanting a new bathroom and the door frames are a mess so needs must! (1job leads to 10 more)
