We have had an offer on our flat from someone who hasn't seen it! They can't make the open day. What a market!

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you're not in a small mining town in the north-west....0

Great estate agents with stunning photos, floor plan, ALL the details about Lease/Local schools/crime figures/Local shops etc
No I am dreaming and its in London or south East?0 -
And this person ends up being a complete timewaster..........0
-
yes South London...
I don't necessarily think they are time wasters, we have over a dozen people coming to the open day and we only put it online on Wednesday.0 -
Absent buyers - Possibly attending a pwoperty show in HK?0

I'm not being funny, but what is it with all the hoo-har and hullaballoo with London just lately? Properties up 20% in the last six months or something? Why? :huh:Proud to have lost over 3 stone (45 pounds,) in the past year! :j Now a size 14!
You're not singing anymore........ You're not singing any-more!

I don't know if it's the same across London but barely anything has even come on the market the last six month that we've been looking. So the guy that made the offer is probably thinking "finally, the first thing to come on the market AT ALL in monts, I'll snap it up". Shame about a dozen other people are thinking the same.0 -
I probably would be waiting til I got 'real' offers. I would be much more confident in someone who'd seen the place...0

Mine offered sight unseen last Friday (house went 'live' on Thursday so I expect they did a drive by), viewed on Monday morning and had their structural survey today.
Fingers crossed for both of us. I'm not sure I'm ready for this quite so early.
Wow, you accepted that quickly. We are still going ahead with open day today.0 -
When I put my one-bedroom, ex-local authority flat on the market, I had 3 phonecalls in the afternoon, just over 2 hours after the estate agent had left. Two of those offered just below the asking price, one of them had "cash in his pocket" (he also came to a viewing)
And this was in 2002! (and yes, it was in London but a very cheap area)
I chose to sell it to the guy who bought it because he wanted to live in it, he was just starting out on his property ladder journey and I knew he wouldn't give our neighbours any hassle. He eventually met and married one of my friends and when he sold the flat, he doubled his money, just as I had done
I didn't buy it from the council, my vendor did.
I wish I had hung onto it really, it's now worth almost £100,000 over what I paid for it!"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0
