Another job quandary

I posted a while ago about giving up freelancing (I was made redundant at the end of last year) and taking a job at a place where the people were nice/commute was easier etc etc but money was rubbish.
I took the job knowing that I can't earn this little for any length of time (the salary covers my outgoings but leaves little over) but just to give me a breather from the stresses of freelancing and intended to start looking for something else the New Year.
Fast forward and I'm 99% sure I'm about to be offered a job elsewhere that pays £6,000 more per year BUT the work would be really boring (the work here can be tedious 60% of the time and their systems drive me mad because they are so chaotic but the other 40% is really creative.)
In either job (for different reasons) I would continue looking for something else but I could be getting paid £500 per month more while I'm looking.
What would you do?

Bit of a no brainer if you need the money, take the better paid oneThe opposite of what you know...is also true0

Another saying take the better paid job - sometimes the steps are close together!0

It doesn't sound like you have the luxury of working a job you enjoy for less right now. Things sound tight. With that in mind it seems safest to take the highest paid job, especially if you'll be looking for a new job six months down the line anyway. You can use the extra money to pay off debts, give yourself a little emergency fund etc. so that when you land a job you really want to do it could be a completely new start for you.0

If you realistically have the choice not to earn more money for now then I would be asking..
Have you deducted any tax and NI on the new wage and can you do boring 100% of the time as opposed to 60%? What about the social side or working pattern of the new job is there anything to compensate for the boring? And finally will the new job help you move on, promotion wise or gaining experience?
My current job is incredibly more stressful than my last job, I have a little more autonomy, which brings its own pressures, but the commute is easier and the people I work with are great and that outweighs the bad, for me.The most potent weapon of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed. Take the job if you need the money. Gives you space to look for something else, plus you never know what opportunities this new job might give anyway.0

£300 per month to be bored 100% of the time doesn't sound like a good trade off to me. Also, two short term jobs won't enhance your CV so I'd stay put.0

Thank you all for your input. I have emailed them to say I don't want the job.
I could really do with the extra money but I think it could have been career suicide. I don't think it would have been easy to get back into the type of publications I usually work on with that one on my CV whereas where I am now I am getting some great stuff for my portfolio.
It really goes against the grain for me to turn down extra money but I slept so much better once I'd made the decision!
