Valid Claim ???

Options
Hi, yesterday I received a letter from RBS about a loan I had with direct line regarding a PPI claim.
I paid PPI on this loan and looking back I was not asked about my circumstances at work.
The company has a very good benefit scheme - If I was sick or had an accident I will receive full pay for a period of time dependant on my service, they have a good redundancy package and the pension scheme pays out in the event of ill health/death.
Is this alone good reason to back up my claim ?
Thanks, rob d

If they have sent you a formt o fill in and send back, just fill it in. If you can't remember, say you don't remember.
If you could have afforded the payments some other way, yes, that's a good reason.
Redundancy doesn't count because it's not assured, nor the pension scheme.

Good sick pay/ Already covered elsewhere,/could have paid the debt with out the insurance - good ones.

redundancy payout and payout on death are not relevant to PPI. PPI is not life assurance and redundancy is discretionary.

However, sickness benefit overlap is. The greater the overlap, the stronger the case with short term debts. 1 month overlap is irrelevant but 6-12 months gives you strong reasons.

At the time I would have qualified for 6 months full pay. The company are good in the way that if you are running out of benefit they will try and get you into work on light duties and stuff for a few hours a day, so maintaining your pay.
Also, wife was working then, so we had a second income - this too was not asked about.
Either way repayments would have been met.

Your wifes income is irrelevant. Your income is, your sick pay is, your savings are, your other insurances.....
