Is this plaster ready for painting?

Hi,

Just a quick question.

On Monday we had our bathroom re-skimmed. All seems to have dried out nicely, however there are still a couple of darker patches. Ive attached some pictures below.

Are we at a stage yet where we can apply the first mist coat, or do we need to wait for the darker pacthes to go pale pink?

    I'd give it another week.

Wow, that long. We've got the bathroom fitters coming back in on Tuesday. Was hoping at the latest I could paint it all on Monday.

The rest of the room dried out pretty quickly - its just the few odd patches in the photo. Hopefully another 80 hours should do the trick!

I'd paint that. Doesn't look wet to me.

Wouldn't it be easier after the fitters have been?

    Exactly what MX5huggy said.

Much easier to paint an empty room.

Make sure you do a mist coat first- i.e. 50% emulsion, 50% water so that the paint covers properly and does not become patchy/ peel off
