My love story is coming to an end :(

I knew this day was coming and laying in bed right now it has finally dawned on me that come July 2nd I will be going back to being just plain old me again with nobody other than myself to keep me company. I made a promise to myself to not get emotional over him going home, now though I'm really struggling and he hasn't even left yet.

Part of me is feeling this is the end and I so wish it wasn't, but if it is the end then it has been a privilege to have had my heart broken by him. :(

You never know, you never know. You didn't think he was interested to start with, he turned out to be, so who knows what the future has written on the cards.

There is still skype and emails! Long distance friendships can develop into more. And even if it does end now - what a lovely summer you've had!

Who we are with does not define who we are .
You're still the same nice person who made him smile and laugh and be happy around.
If it does turn out to be a lovely holiday romance that doesn't survive the distance then you've gained some lovely memories and increased self esteem. You've also had your eyes opened to the fact that there is a wider world out there and with a bit of effort you could be the one exploring it.

Don't spoil the last days with sadness- enjoy them -and then start plotting your own adventure

My son courted his American wife (now) for 3 years, after meeting her while on holiday, in the States, with the net, phone calls, and them flying back and forth between America and London.

It seemed there is always one of them on a plane lol

Finally, he proposed, and went out to America on a fianc! visa, they got wed, and he now has permanent residence status.:T

If the relationship is right, it can overcome distance, but it depends on how you both feel, obviously.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

You are pre-empting things that you cant predict, with thoughts and feelings that are leaving you overwhelmed with sadness. My advice is stop over analysing and worrying and live in the moment. Take every day one at a time and just see what evolves next. In the meantime have a hug and please accept that you are far removed from being a plain Jane :)
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

America is no longer a far distant land - there is facebook and twitter, and Skype and planes! If he wants to keep in touch, he may not even say anything until just before he leaves! he may assume that you will keep in touch by one of these methods! (if he is anything like my OH he will just assume).
and why don't you think about 'relocating' over here oduliet? People do you know. perhaps you should come over and experience British life for yourself? apply for work here? and I don't mean just 'London' life. that's like people visiting New York and thinking they know everything about America and its people.
Its a small country compared to your own - but the diversity of regions is markedly different in a very small area.

If you do decide to hop on a plane be aware it is nothing like as simple as Meri is implying it is for a US national to work over here - but nothing to stop planning a visit as a holiday.
