right, well phoning them doesn't appear to be getting you anywhere so I would probably try a different approach. Why waste your time and money hanging on the phone to be fobbed off and passed around?
I would write (paper not email) to them and mark the letter in big capitals 'COMPLAINT' so they are in doubt that it is a complaint. There should be a policy on their website on how to make a complaint. If this fails to produce a satisfactory response I would then complain to OFGEM (I believe they are the regulator/obmudsman). IN your letter to your provider I would also detail all the times you have tried to call and the amount of time and money you have spent chasing them and would expect something for my time.

Edit: are you sure these are the current providers? It might be worth asking on the gas/electric forum for more help to track down your provider if you are unsure.

    Hi

You should firstly put your compliant in writing, recorded delivery is best.
If no response with 10 working days. Phone Citizens advice helpline, 08454 04 05 06, press the button the energy complains, they will assist and if needs be with direct you to there own unit that deal directly with supplier complaints. Ofgem don't deal directly with complaints only the regulator, and EO wont take your case on until its been through the supplier complaints process.

Trust me do what I say and you will get the help you need.

    Good luck.
