Never recieved a bill from ScottishPower

Hi,
This might sound a bit odd. I've been renting a 2 room flat for 6 months, now I moved out. During my stay I called Scottish Power several times to request a bill, inform of meter reading and complained several times because they haven't sent a bill.
I have called them the day I moved in and recorded my first meter reading, that time relaxed thinking I will receive a bill after my second reading.
Have to say I didn't have central heating and everything was electric including the electric floor heating.
Terrible customer service, I explained my story several times to random people over the phone, sometimes struggled to understand what they were saying, not because of their strong Scots accent but because of their lazy way of talking, mumbling. Been put on hold several times and connected to someone else without any warning.
Now as a customer, I am not meant to be chasing bills am I?
I am worried that one day I will start receiving letters from depth collecting agencies.
What should I do? I am sure there is massive bill somewhere assigned to my name.
I am sure this must be some sort of breach of contract from their side.
Please advise,
Thanks

You can easily sign up for there online account management, they do tend to be lax at sending bills sometimes, I hope you have been setting money aside for it !!.
You can do it all in the "your account" section of there website, no need to call, waste of time, you can enter your meter reading, pay bills, dispute bills etc, that's my advice.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. In your position I would send them a letter setting out the situation. That should have more effect that the phone calls seem to have been doing.
And whilst you shouldn't have to chase them for an invoice it will presumably be better than having a large debt build up for the usage and hopefully give you peace of mind on this matter.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
nPower did this to us when we moved into our house. It took 2-3 years before they sent us a gas bill (they did regularly send electric bills) even though we regularly rang up and asked for one.
We did get a large bill later though and had to pay it through installments.0 -
I wanted to do the payment online, however, in order to create an account online I need my electricity account number. They couldn't give me an account number and every time they kept saying they will send out the bill and that will have it on.0

I would just wait until they send one then, you have done as much as is required of you, just keep a record of what has happened incase, at some point there is any dispute regarding the bill

They wouldn't know where to send the last bill as I didn't update them on that.
To be honest if I'd know that by just ignoring this I would get away with it... I would! just because I had to bother so many times to call them without any results!0 -
Can someone remind me again why do I have to chase them?!?!
I am on hold at the moment for the last 47 minutes! RIDICULOUS!!!!
I thought I will call them and get the account number, or just try to sort out anything.0 -
My point is that it's unfair! I have to chase for payments I need to make! that's not how things work!
And that call back option... didn't have it this time.0 -
That is why it is far better to write to them than telephone them.
More likely to get your query dealt with properly, and takes far less time and cost than sitting on the phone on hold to them.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
