Hey guys and gals
My friend has an Internet bill in his name, however the money for the account I pay for using my debit card. I have managed to be put on the account as being authorised, however they are still the main account holder. Now we recently had a falling out and I am worried that I am going to be lumbered with cancellation charges, bad credit rating etc. Now my question is, if I cancel the direct debit with my bank, am I liable for paying the default charges or is the main account holder that will be held applicable?
Any help will be much appreciated

Hi
I think the main account holder is the person who will be responsible
for any charges but i would not just cancel the direct debit with out speaking to the company first.
if you are authorised on the account i would personally ring the company up and speak to them and tell them that due to you not speaking to the person any longer you no longer wish to be on their account and want the direct debit cancelled and all your details to be removed from the account its then up to the company to contact your friend to arrange new payment details .
Also just to cover your back i would also follow it up in writing to them so you have proof that you requested to no longer be on the account and also if possible let your friend know that you will be removing yourself from the account and that they need to make other arrangements to pay it .
Sorry i can't be of more help to you0 -
That's brilliant thank you0
