caravan parked in residential areas

Hi
I am after some advice on how to report this problem.
I share a residential carpark with the houses and flats in my street. A few weeks ago one of neighbours in the street put a caravan in his parking space. He doesnt drive so thought this to be weird, I have since seen a woman staying in the caravan sneaking around at night and during the day coming and going from the caravan.
This neighbour is a pain in the bum with his drug dealing, wandering around the street in daylight smashed with his friends, loud music and my neighbour suspects he tried to poison her dog (he has complained about it barking at the cats)
Who can I report this too? His landlord has been told but has done nothing. Can I call 101 and talk to the local police or would I have report this to the council or the residential committee?
Many thanks in advance :-)

Is this a private parking area or a public street.
Sounds like a private car-park to me - so the first call would be the resident's committee.
If it's on a public street an attached or unattached trailer/caravan needs to be lit at night and could possibly be classed as causing an obstruction. That would be reportable to the police, like any other traffic / vehicle offence.
Any drug-dealing concerns can be notified to your police neighbourhood support officer in confidence.
Poisoning pets is also a topic for the neighbourhood support officer.0 -
Thanks for your reply, it is a private car park for residents only.
There isnt a committee meeting coming up for a month or so was hoping to get the ball rolling asap.
He is known to the police so hopefully can call them and get some advice .0 -
Many private developments have covenants stating what can and cannot be parked, and caravans are often excluded. Check these, if applicable. If someone is in breach of those covenants, something cam be done.0

I think this is one for The Deep - specialises in residential-related issues, especially those with riff-raff problems.
I'm sure he'll be along soon enough. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

OP - complain to the council. Anti-social behaviour is their responsibility to sort with assistance from the police if necessary. Allegedly I live in a really downmarket area so you won't be surprised to hear that in the past we had a similar issue with a family renting from a private landlord. At first the council didn't want to know but they soon moved their butts into gear once I'd involved our local councillors. You should do the same."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -
I'd contact one of your councillors if I were you. They will know which department(s) at the council will deal with this. Council should be able to stop it, you can't go plonking caravans down willy-nilly for people to live in!Je suis Charlie.0

Thank you for your replies, I have been waiting for an outcome as one of the neighbours has again complained to the landlord of the property who was apparently dealing with it.
But nothing has happened so I have contacted the police and local council via email so will see what happens.
This man is a menace falling through the street Saturday morning at 10am dropping cans of cider in the middle of the road and scaring the elderly lady who lives opposite him she is scared to leave her home.
lets hope something is done about this soon.0
