Faulty goods & refund?

I purchased a large item via the Groupon website. The item was delivered and to be found to be of very poor quality. The item was also faulty. I complained to Groupon who have agreed to issue a refund. However, as the item is large, a courier is needed to collect from my home. I have given Groupon all the information they require to arrange collection, and also asked that collection be arranged for Friday. Groupon advises that I can't pick a collection date and that the courier will call to arrange a day for collection. Unfortunately, I go on holiday on Saturday so there is no chance that the item will be collected before I return. Groupon states that it must be returned within 14 calendar days for a refund.
I don't think I've been unreasonable, where do I stand on this? have I got any grounds to dispute the transaction with my CC company? The purchase price is only £45.

Umm, they need to arrange collection at a suitable time and there isn't a limit on when they need to pick it up 4 a SOGA return. So just get it sorted with Groupon.. Hassle them (nicely) a bit and advise them o the holiday. Worst case scenario get someone else to stay at yours 4 a day on pickup date.

Why would you get your CC involved? Seller has indicated that they will comply with SOGA so realistically they are meeting the requirements o the contract o sale at this stage and reversing the transaction whilst in your possession at this stage is realistically stealing (plus I'd like to think that the CC wouldn't immediately reverse it).

This is assuming that it IS aulty and not just "o poor quality" which may merely be your opinion o the item and not covered under SOGA in which case a 14 day limit MAY be correct (and the pickup may also be a goodwill gesture!)
