Lowell Portfolio 1 LTD & BPO Collections ruining my credit rating

Desperate need of some advice here, but it's a rather long story (which I will cut down).
At the start of 2011, I got some bills from Vodafone and T Mobile for new mobile phone contracts. The person shared the same first name as me, but had a different second name. I contacted T Mobile and Vodafone to alert them of this several times, but the bills kept coming. This eventually turned into Debt Collection notices. Obviously someone had partially stolen my identity and taken out these false accounts.
I checked my experian file a year ago, and everything was great I had a perfect credit rating. However I was constantly being turned down for mortgages, credit cards, even mobile phone contracts. I only then realised equifax have a different rating, and on signing up to them, both Vodafone and T Mobile had put me as defaulted accounts with them.
Vodafone quickly resolved the issue and removed the negative note. However, T Mobiles note soon turned into Lowell Portfolio.
Equifax advised me to phone Lowell, who in turn told me to contact BPO collections. For the last 8 weeks, all 3 parties have a default position to blame the other, and claim it has nothing to do with them. I'm spending an hour on the phone everyday, and nothing is being done. It's stressing me out beyond belief, I've had to pull out of a flat I was buying because this one default has meant I can't get a mortgage. My experian file is almost 1000 points but it's pot luck if a company uses them or not. I was recently turned down for a £9 a month 3 sim card!
What is the next step I can take? Would appreciate any help.

"My experian file is almost 1000 points but it's pot luck if a company uses them or not"....have a look at the Mortgage and Endowment forum here, there are some good mortgage brokers who will know who to place a mortgage with that avoids Experian (assuming that is the default is not mnetioned on Equifax or Callcredit."Killing Jesse James don't make you Jesse James"0

Stop wasting time on trying to phone them.
Write a letter of complaint to lowell.
Best to also check your callcredit file as well (free online via their noddle website).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
