RBS letter

Hi everyone
(New here so please be gentle!)
I recently received a lettter from RBS regarding "Policies associated with loans set out at the end of this letter" (covers 4 loans taken out since 2001)
I responded using the template that was provided In the same letter and have just received a response (pretty much within 2 working days!) to say that actually, no PPI had been sold to me.
Am a bit confused to say the least! If no PPI was sold (although I'm 99% sure that this was sold to me at the time) why are they contacting me to invite me to discuss the matter?
Unfortunately, I can't find the original paperwork (yet!) but sure the original agreement is in a shoebox somewhere!
Other than getting the original agreement to check, does anyone have any advice on how to follow up on this?
I'd appreciate any help I can get
Thanks in advance

I would look for your shoebox. If the loans where taken out that far back they probably have no documents on file anyway, they only normally keep such papers for six years and then destroy.
You could send £10 for a SAR. to see what they do hold, maybe it has just been sent out automatically.
Cant be any more help that that. Sorry.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
It's possible that your account was flagged as having PPI but you subsequently cancelled it during the cooling off period. Since the original agreement (even if you find it) won't show any such cancellation, the only way to be sure is to send the bank a Subject Access Request (SAR) letter which should provide everything they've kept on file for you for at least the last six years (sometimes more).If no PPI was sold (although I'm 99% sure that this was sold to me at the time) why are they contacting me to invite me to discuss the matter?
It will cost you £10, excellent template SAR here;

The RBS archive (including Natwest) keeps everything on all their customers dating back until 1985, they can be very hit and miss on what they find in the archive though, so be prepared to question their findings if need be.0
