Closing a Santander fixed bond

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has ever successfully closed a Santander fixed bond before the end of the fixed term (without dying as this seems to be the only way to get your money back at the moment!)?

I put my money away in January thinking I wouldn't need the money until next year (Jan 2015) but have got a new job in another part of the country and don't want to throw money into rent when I could use my savings for a deposit to buy.
