tenby fair

Possibly in luck. Tenby Fair (formerly St Margrets Fair) could possibly be this comming week. It always seems or coincide with the schools breaking up down here. Don't expect too much though. It's heyday was long long ago - I moved here in 1983 and it was on its way out long before then.
As to what to do when the weather is bad, no too much really, there is still the single screen cinema that only shows ONE film per week (Harry potter from Friday for what is possibly the whole summer) and only one screening a day.
Further afield you have Folly Farm or Oakwood. There is also Heatherton which has just anounced its "Maize" maze in the shap of the DJ Chris Moyles, and Manor House Park across the road from Heatherton.
On Saturday the 21st (maybe outside of your holiday) the "popular-beat-combo" Girls Aloud are performing at Oakwood.0 -
Don't bother seeing Harry Potter in Tenby. What a rip off. £5 all seats. !!!!!! sound !!!!!! screen. Forgot to turn the sound on for first 10 seconds of film. TUrned sound off after last word of film spoken so no theme tune for us to hear! He made an announcement about litter instead. Oh and for 10 minutes before the film we were made to feel guilty and donate money to an old lady from Tenovus with a charity bucket. I go to the cinema to watch a film not donate to a charity. I donate often to charity but to charties of my choice.0

Sorry, I though my sum up of the cinema should have been enough to put anyone off.
I have also written elsewhere here about the flea-pit that is Tenby Playhouse Cinema.
I have been going there for 24 years and it needed a good painting then. The same colours are on the walls now!!0 -
I have been going there about twice every summer for the past 9 years. Hate it every time but if you want to see a film its the only local place to go unfortunately.0

The fair has been going downhill for many years now, this year has to be the worst ever - IT WASN'T EVEN THERE!
Popped down to Tenby this weekend, not a single stall in the usual venue. It turns out that Danters (the people who own the rides) have set up early in their summer holiday spot, opposite the Clicketts and swimming pool.
With regard to Girls aloud at Oakwood, the weather was pants and apparently by mid-week there had been 11000 tickets sold for the day, and usual attendance figures are closer to 5000.0
