Late, or failed, payments would show on your credit records and may impact your ability to get further credit. You can easily check your credit records yourself any time you like. Start with noddle.co.uk, but worth getting the others, too.0

Meaningless numbers, you need to look at your credit record.
Standing Order by itself is usually a very poor way of paying a credit card account for the reason that you have found. If you want to pay less than the full balance but more than the minimum each month one option is to set up a minimum balance DD and an additional SO, although with some cards if the SO hits the account before the DD is due to be taken then the DD gets cancelled.0 -
Late payments will show on your credit file. Your credit score means diddly squat.0

Ignore the credit score on your credit files - all lenders ignore it. You need to look at the detail because that is what lenders do.
It all only matters if you want to get credit, such as a mortgage, a loan, and overdraft, a new CC, or a higher CC limit, or perhaps a new job. If none of this is a requirement, it doesn't matter what is on your credit file.0 -
To get to brass tacks on this:
* Yes, it will have affected your credit score. Not as badly as 6 months of NO payments, but it's still 6 months of LATE payments.
* They are right that the payments wouldn't have counted. Unfortunately, you did mess up - albeit with good intentions - and you're at the mercy of their goodwill.
* In future, you're better off asking them to set a DD payment (rather than SO) for your chosen amount each month, that way they'll take it on the "right" day for them.
Good luck in getting a resolution though.0 -
