The trouble is these parking companies rely on people who are a) too afraid, b) can't be bothered to appeal. That's how they make their money.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Is there not someone on here who will make it go away for £16.00?You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

This is my problem. I'm not too afraid. But I also don't really have a spare two minutes for the next three weeks, let alone an hour to put aside to looking at this. Right now I'm doing at least three things at once and this is my least favourite/important.
If there is someone out there who can for £16 I'd happily take them up on it.0 -
In that case go to https://www.parkingticketappeals.org.uk
This is an organisation run by a couple of trusted members of the forum, who will take over the whole thing for £16. Should they lose for you, they pay the PCN
I appreciate it may feel you are being got at. It is not meant this way, it's just that when people post this type of thread when it is clear they have not read the Newbie thread at the top of the forum which says to read before posting, it can be frustrating answering the same wrong information time and time again.
I would recommend this bunch of people to anyone who wants to fight the PCN themself and if not the next best thing is the website I have just directed you to. If you are too stressed and busy, pay them a visit and they will sort it.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. It really is quite easy to kill this yourself.
First, make an appeal to Parking Eye. It will be rejected and you should receive a verification code to enable you to appeal to POPLA.
Next, appeal to POPLA using the tried and tested legal arguments.
Then await your POPLA win.
All the information you need is in the Newbies thread at the top of the forum.
all it takes is a couple of letters/emails.

Thank-you so much for all your help! I shall use that service!
I get that if must be frustrating, but isn't a forum a place to ask advice? I had clearly tried to research and wanted some reassurance or advice. Would it have been so frustrating if my research had turned out to be correct? I doubt it would have provoked such harsh and frustrated replies, and yet it still would have been repeating itself.
So easy to fling words about when you can't see someone through a computer screen. If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all. Always applies.0 -
Fair enough...but the way I see it, to have started this new thread you must have looked at page one of the forum board to see the blue 'new thread' button? And there staring at you before you hit the new thread button so quickly, was a top sticky thread in CAPITALS begging newbies to read it first as it tells you for free how to win and I have written the template for you. We are only here out of the goodness of our hearts, I could be outside in the sun!
This is what Newbies can achieve without paying anyone and without even starting a thread until they'd won:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4911394
All of them knew nothing about the issues until they read the advice thread. Then, armed with that info & templates they won! You can too.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

A pal of mine recently received a parking fine in the post. Surely, Parking Eye or whoever they use to collect the so called debt need to provide proof that the fine has been received by the car owner? If they do not send the correspondence via special or recorded delivery how can they prove this? Surely just ignore and state that you have never received the penalty?0

1) its not a fine so no he did not get fined, he got a speculative invoice from a private parking company
2) please read the NEWBIES sticky thread at the top of this forum, tells you everything you need to know
3) please do not hijack somebody elses thread, its disrespectful to the OP, start your own thread using the blue NEW THREAD button near the green banner on the main forum

absurdities wrote: »Why is everyone so mean? I was just asking for advice. Not everyone is as good at the internet as some people. Hence why I asked. And thank goodness I did. I also don't have time to read ALL of the advice right now as I'm working 3 jobs and and working on lots of volunteer projects. And only able to think about this when I have a spare moment, which would actually be put to better use preparing for work. So yeah, actually handing over money might be my easiest option as it will be no stress.
Is being broken down for a couple of hours and then the car magically starting again grounds enough for appeal? I called the AA but they never came as the car started before they came.
You asked for advice.
You were given splendid accurate up to date free advice crafted by people who took the trouble to do all the hard work for you. It must have taken Coupon-mad hours and hours of her own time to produce the information in the Newbies thread.
You ignored the advice.
You whinged when you were told you had ignored the advice.
Effectively you have been offered a free service and then complained that you had to do some of the work yourself instead of someone spoon feeding youthe information.
If you really don't have the time, then paying 16 quid to get this resolved for you is cheap, but you could do it yourself for nowt.
As for the car breaking down, if you had read the Newbies thread you would know that mitigation does not work.
Two template letters will kill this and they are both in the Newbies thread. Copy and paste, make minor amendments, post, wait for the win. It really is easy.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0
