Any bug sprays that aren't dangerous for pets?

Hey guys,

I am currently house sitting for a couple with 2 dogs (the couple also happen to be my employers).

I made a *massive* mistake (only realise this now!) and agreed to house sit for them for ten days. The problem is the spare room they've put me up in is literally crawling with bugs - mostly earwigs from what I can see...they're all over the bed, everywhere...also spiders about, but they're all over the house anyhow.

I slept there last night, but not well. I'm taking the sofa tonight as there's less bugs apparent (room I am in was, until recently, used to rear chicks - it's supposedly been cleaned since and looks okay aside from the bugs).

Anyhow, I would obviously prefer to be able to sleep in the bed, but need to get some bug killer first. The issue is there are 2 dogs in the house (though only one can get up the stairs to the room). Are there any bug killing sprays that I could use? I can keep the dog out of the room for a while, and from memory some bug killers are safe once they've dried, but seriously - any recommendations would be great.

I got next to no sleep last night and I am not a person who does well on limited sleep :( Also spending my days (when I should be working) clearing up after their puppy - who they failed to mention wasn't house trained, but that's a whole other story!

I used to use pet insect spray (e.g. flea or mite sprays) as fly spray when I had small furries. My thinking was that if it was deemed safe to use directly on the animals, it wouldn't harm for small amounts to be sprayed in the environment.

The only thing I would say is to perhaps go to the vet for a safe product - I'd avoid Bob Martin stuff from the petshop.

Thanks...may give that a shot. I always avoid Bob Martin stuff like the plague - it's pure poison as far as I'm concerned. Will investigate alternatives, though. In the meantime I'm sleeping on the couch!

Skoosh is great for any insect as it immobilises them so they can't breed or do anything.

This is the cheapest I have found it for:

Dethlac is safe once it's dried, you just need to keep pets out of the way till then. I've used it a few times on the kitchen floor, and the dog doesn't seem to notice its there.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
