Nissan Juke Leather Drivers Seat Splitting

Hi All
I brought a used 2010 Nissan Juke last month 20/05/2014. The drivers leather seat has started to split along a crease in the leather. I have contacted the local dealer as to whether this would be covered under the 6 months warranty which was supplied with the vehicle. They have said no as only mechanical failure is covered.
I have emailed the supplying dealer, as follows "I am emailing you reference the Nissan Juke Juke reg **** ***, which I purchased from you last month 20/05/2014. The front driver’s seat is starting to split, please see attached digital photographs. It seems to be splitting on a crease. It has not been caught or ripped by anything, as you can see by the attached images. I have been to my local Seat dealer, who has informed me that this will not be covered by the 6 months warranty cover I have. Obviously I am disappointed as having spent over £10.000.00 on the vehicle & having such low mileage, I would not have expected the seat to start splitting after just 1 months use.
The reason for this email is to ask if your dealership will cover the costs of having the seat repaired.
I look forward to your reply"
They have replied with " My first suggestion would be to have the seat inspected by a Nissan dealer to enquire if there would be some form of goodwill because of the low mileage".
I am unsure as to how to proceed, as I think my contract is with the dealer I purchased the car from, not Nissan.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Tricky one.
Is it starting to split or is it cracking?
ie, could it be natural wear in a contour of the leather?
Any chance of a link to a pic?0 -

Looks like a cut. You will be able to get it repaired, but I doubt that will be covered by any warranty claim.0

The car is 4 years old and low mileage and has had 4 years worth of someones backside in/out of the car - probably several times a day. This has probably caused the split.
Can't see Nissan being bothered to be honest.
You could get it repaired by a local trim repair place for about £25.0 -

You say it started to split after 1 months use, but its had 4 years use not 1 month. Like others I would just go and get it repaired.
I have a similar thing on my car seats which is a similar age, but mine is high mileage which I must get sorted.0 -
I think you need to put your efforts into finding a good repairer as i can not see it be repaired for free.
Good luck all the same.Google gives you answers use it.........0 -
Can't you just fit some replacements from a Micra? They've been around for years, should be plenty going cheap at the scrappers.
The Juke is effectively a jacked up Micra, there's bound to be a lot of interchangeable parts.........“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
