Just a quick update, halifax have contacted my wife's work to check her salary and the account numbers of the creditors we intend to pay.
    Seems like a good sign?

An underwriter will require all the information to hand prior to making an informed decision.

The answer to that will be the answer to your question.

Make the most of the chance and don't make the same mistakes again. You've made a sensible decision at the right time. Others I fear will leave making difficult decisions until it's too late.

    Good to hear!
I was sitting on the fence with this a little, I did think it would go through but there is always that little bit of doubt where you think a lender might be lacking common sense.
