Hi, I am a complete technophobe. How can I record my own voice (for notes to self) on my Macbook Pro? Using Garage, or-:question:? If anyone can help, in basic language that even I can understand, I would be very grateful!

Yes, it's easy to do and there are several ways.

Your Mackbook Pro comes with an application called Quicktime.

Open Quicktime.

On the menu bar at the top of the screen click on File the select New Audio recording.

A small black box will open with a red button in the middle. Click on the red button and start to speak, the red button will change to a black square, the stop button. When you're done click the stop button which will change to a triangle, the play button. Press it and your recording will play back.

To save the recoding click on File, on the menu bar at the top of the screen and click on Save you can the name the file and choose where to save it.

There are other ways but that is just one of them.

If you can't find QuickTime click on the small magnifying glass icon on the top right of the menu bar , this opens spotlight, and start typing QuickTime, the QuickTime icon will appear in the list just click on it to open QuickTime.
