ParkingEye Court Success Rate: The Truth

On their website (last updated Sept 2013), PE claim to have won "90% of court cases".
In subsequent letters to defendants, that figure dropped to 85%, then 80%, then they said they won "the vast majority" of cases, which later changed to a "substantial majority".
I now have the result from a Freedom of Information (FOI 90461)request from the Ministry of Justice, for the period 1st April 2013 to 31st March 2014.
I asked for cases, where the claimant was ParkingEye, which went to a hearing (so excluding any defaults).
Number of hearings = 376
Judgment for Claimant = 225
So that's a win rate over 12 months, of 59.8%
Now, if you factor in that during the first few months of this process, they probably were winning around 90% against ill-prepared and clueless defendants, that suggests that in the later months, their success rate dropped off quite sharply, possibly below 50%.
No doubt, in light of this information, they will be amending their website text, and rewriting their template letters.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

The words Truth and Parking Eye in the same sentence - never thought I'd see it !
But of course this is a vendetta - you can bet your bottom dollar it is Parking Eye. That's at least something you've got right."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -
If 376 went to court defended, how many others were defaults, and how many claims were issued overall?0

They issued around 13-14,000 claims in that period.nobbysn*ts wrote: »If 376 went to court defended, how many others were defaults, and how many claims were issued overall?
Not sure how many ended up as defaults.

And, regrettably, probably a large number where the defendant settled to prevent it going to court. Are we allowed to call PE bullies on this forum, as well as liars?nobbysn*ts wrote: »If 376 went to court defended, how many others were defaults, and how many claims were issued overall?0 -
You know, of course, that PE also compile the MPG figures used by motor manufacturers.0

The best way is to try and get everyone to appeal to POPLA using GPEOL and other wining g arguments. When faced with that. PE just cave in and don't even bother to submit any evidence,What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
