advice re accident being recorded as "against you" when not at fault

I am not sure where I stand with my car insurance - I had an accident 6+ months back where other driver admitted liability and my insurance was then dealing with recovering the money they have paid out as a result. I have now checked my policy online and seen that the status of that claim now says - it has been registered against me (previously said in my favour) as I was not at fault. Do I need to get involved with other insurance to chase it up as I am worried it will impact my insurance premiums going forward for an accident that was not my fault being recorded against me?

Against or for generally is nothing to do with "fault" or blame but simply a matter of if your insurance company has a net outlay.

As such, as soon as your insurer pays anything out it becomes "fault" until such time as they get their monies back from the third party/ their insurers. A few insurers will maintain a non-fault status when they are comfortable that this will be the end state but they are in a shrinking minority.

In the first instance speak to your insurers and check whats happening and if there are any problems or if the claim is just following its natural course
