When I did similar for coun tax on line - it told me to wait for their envelope. I did & then sent in all proof needed. All returned to me a week later.0

ah great thank you, I wasn't sure if to email them all over but I have no ref number etc and didn't want them to get mixed up and delay the process.

Did you complete this form?
http://www.newcastle-staffs.gov.uk/documents/advice%20benefits%20and%20emergencies/bcf.pdf
If you did then at the end it gives a check list of what information you need to send them.
Personally I would take the documents to them then they can update their records straight away. Our council then photocopies them. You need to get a receipt showing which documents they have seen. Also note down the date/person you spoke to and keep the receipt somewhere safe. This is your proof that you presented the documents in the correct time.0 -
