Time for the next one!

Morning,

I have had a claim against Egg upheld after many years of wondering whether to go for it.

I am still paying the debt but with the payout (£8,800) I may be able to get Marlin to agree a f&f. Fingers are crossed!!

My question is...Years ago I had a Barclaycard and OH had a capital one credit card.

Neither of us still have details and they were closed about 10 years ago. Is it worth filling in forms when I cant give account details?
If so do I just us the same template from this site as I did before or is there a different one for credit cards?

Thanks in advance for any help

You need the account numbers. SO to see if there is any paperwork left you need to send a SAR and £10 to each company.
Capital One have a low overturn rate and Barclaycard only keep 6 yars of statements. Because you no longer have the Barclaycard, they may have destroyed all details.

To find out though, you need to send the SAR - there's a link in the sticky on the front page, give them all the info you can, including past addresses etc.

You dont ALWAYS need the account numbers. I had successful PPI claims from Lloyds (a few), and Barclays without account numbers. I wrote with my complaint reasons (didn't even know about the SAR at the time), and they wrote back with my account info. I included the addresses I'd lived at over past 10 years and full name etc.

You do indeed always need the account numbers. In your case the Bank supplied them for you, but you still needed them in order to complain! You were just lucky that the Banks concerned were able to easily locate your account information, otherwise a SAR letter would have been necessary.
