    Just pop along to your practice nurse so that she can pop the otoscope in there and have a look - soggy sounds that you are experiencing may be indicative of something else that could actually be exacerbated by olive oil, or anything else keeping the ear wet - so get a professional diagnosis and then proceed from there according to the findings.
