Should I get extras fitted in from my dealer or garage?
Good Morning Folks
I have selected a used car - a Seat Ibiza, to buy from a Seat dealer. However, I would also like some extras fitted in such as :
1. Sun roof
2. Sat Nav
3. Blue tooth
3. USB Connections
4, Leather Seats
5. Parking Sensors
6. LED lights.
Do you think I should have these extras fitted from the dealer (and have the warranty in place) or go to a private garage to have the work done?
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Are you mad?
If you have specific requirements such as most of those you have listed buy a car that has them already fitted. The cost to retro fit will be disproportionate.
There are thousands of cars out their that will have them fitted already.
You can buy yourself a Sat Nav.0 -
All of these would also need to be declared as modifications to all future insurance quotes and given the volume of them it'll probably push you off the internet and onto the phone in which case premiums will go up because of the loss of online discounts and the hassle of having to phone 100+ insurers/brokers to get comparable quotes0

if you want those extras then look for a car that has them fitted as standard
you would spend more money than you paid for the car having all that fitted0 -
Are these items Cupra spec extras? Think its the convienence pack and tech pack theses also winter pack. Could you not just look for a Cupra already loaded with these extra rather than make your own into a Cupra spec car?0

Has the dealer quoted you for fitting these (or picked himself up off the floor from :rotfl:after you asked him) ?0 -
Do keep us informed of the cost of getting that lot fitted.
I can't think why you would not buy a car with the extras already fitted.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

What do you mean by "USB connections"? For charging?

For SatNav, if you really need help to open the packet and stick the mount onto the windscreen, should you be driving? Mind you, given you can't even count to seven...
For Bluetooth, take your pick...

You might need a facia adapter, maybe a wiring adapter.
For parking sensors...

For sunroof, LED lights, leather seats...
WHY are you buying THIS car?0 -
sunroof in non sunroof car! got a spare £1500+ handy!? the work alone is intensive, and not something a dealer would undertake as it requires a measure 20 times and cut once method as if they get it wrong the car is scrap, you would also require a roof card with the hole, the mechanism in which to operate it, the electrics in which to feed power to it, and the roof repainted once its plumed in as it requires a fair amount of welding.
leather interior from a dealer! WOW they will sell those to you got a spare £2k?
satnav with blue tooth from a dealer dash fitted? £500-£1000 depending on model unit, probably £200 to fit and code to the ECU want the interactive steering wheel aswell? that will be extra!
LED headlights, that will require a different wiring harness from the fuse box to the lamps, then you need to buy the LED headlamps themselves, your probably talking in the region £1000+ to convert with a dealer.
parking sensors are probably the cheapest in that list to get dealer fitted.
It's cheaper to ORDER a NEW vehicle with these optional extra's than it is to try and have a dealer retro fit them, the sunroof will be a specialists job as NO dealer will entertain cutting the roof up.0
