Forgot to mention that I received renewal notice yesterday for house insurance and it had gone up massively but we had made no claims. Have just done comparison via main MSE site and quotes came in at approximately 37% of renewal quote. I phoned insurer and they said they couldn't do anything about it, so have just cancelled renewal and bought via comparison site. It was so cheap that I paid it in one go too, so also saved on fee for paying monthly. First serious money saving in ages - result! :j

All of our insurances went up this year too. I will have to look at the MSE comparison thing you mention when the renewal dates roll round, which won't be until next year now.2016 Grocery Challenge January: £296.20/£300 February: £262.05/£3000 -
Morning all,
Slept well last night, first night in days. Hubby was showing signs of being restless in bed again so sod that, the air con went on. He slept soundly after that. He noticed I'd lost weight when he wrapped his arms around me last night.... he doesn't usually notice let alone comment but no burned dinner for him tonight!
Not got much planned for my day. Need to squash down the wheelie bin ive been chucking stuff out again and its rammed. My Grandson is coming to me for his afternoon nap too whilst his Mummy does her own thing. I'm looking forward to giving him his dinner and giving him a cuddle before he goes to bed.
Meanmarie, belated birthday greetings. I hope you had a lovely day.
Lovely to see Hilstep posting. Just Molly to fret about now.
Off to strip the beds, need to coax 'Youngest' out of his. The smell of bacon and eggs usually does the trick.
Onwards and forwards,

Hi everyone,
I got back from DD's last night. We had a wonderful time at Wimbledon, but did an awful lot of walking. It's very interesting seeing how the other half live but I'm sure it would soon pall if you did it every day. DD is off to Glastonbury tonight, she's been every year it was on since 2003, she used to work on a music newspaper that was issued on the site every day, she loved it.
I need inspiration for tonight's dinner, I've gone a bit stale in the planning department but I don't want to buy anything because I'm trying to make room in the freezer, I think I'll have a rummage.
DD's friend loved his quilt but I'm going to make a top for myself next and then I've got two baby quilts to make.

My son worked Glastonbury the one year and he said although he'd never worked so hard he's never had so much fun!

Morning all,
I still haven't caught up with the weekends news!
Meanmarie - Another one wishing you a belated Happy Birthday!
Jackie O - Lovely day for a new car
Lovely and sunny here again, washing on the line. I seem to have spent all my free time doing online insurance quotes for the car. My car alone is very cheap to insure (cost me just over £100 last year) but I am thinking of putting DS2 who is learning onto my policy. I have actually been surprised at the disparity between providers. Aviva multicar seems the best at the moment, they are about £200 a year cheaper than the next cheapest. Only downside is that he won't actually earn any NCB as a named driver, then again that's not my problem is it!?
Pork for tea and probably roast spuds, not had them in a while.

when my friend divorced she was driving on her husbands insurance. Her husband had to consent to it mind, but they gave her a no claims discount to start her off. It probably wasn't as much as what her husband got but it was something.Only downside is that he won't actually earn any NCB as a named driver, then again that's not my problem is it!?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. DS2 has also been every time from 2003 to last year, as a 15year old first timer through to Oxfam volunteer and loved it, even when he had to wear bin-liners taped to each leg to stay dry and be hosed down on his return home! He used to carry 2 water packs in his backpack - one with water & one with red wine!
His current job has meant he has been away with the students more recently but am sure he will go again in the future.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Afternoon all,
I've just finished making beds and cleaning rooms, transforming DGS room into something suitable for a 16 yr old girl.:D
My daughter had her kidney scan this morning. She asked the lady if she could see anything. She didn't say no but she did say there was nothing to worry about and the results will go to her doctor. So fingers crossed it's not serious. I've diagnosed kidney stones but I'm not medically qualified. Also no call regarding her blood test as yet so I'm guessing no news is good news.
She is feeling much better today, thank goodness. She goes to Paris at the weekend for a 3 day trip with her girls.
My brother arrives tonight and we are all very excited. I may be missing the odd day as it's going to be a busy time. I will pop in when I can.
Belated Birthday wishes Mean Marie, sorry I missed it.
TTFTM thanks for your good wishes re DD:)
Ooh forgot to say another pound off last night.
Have a good day xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Evening all,
Just popping in for a quick rant.
Got all excited yesterday, we had an offer on our house, cash buyer, full asking price, popped into EA as I was passing today, only to find that they had also put offers in on 3 other houses too, and have now gone on holiday, so we don,t know what is what - EA not sure whats happening either, they tried to find out for all parties concerned, but no reply - have told EA to carry on marketing at full pelt, as it all sounds a bit strange to me
Hope your all well, will have a read back now
