Bank of Scotland & Halifax Credit Cards

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has successful held both a Bank of Scotland Credit Card and a Halifax Credit Card at the same time?
I had a Student Credit Card from Halifax back last year but since finishing Uni was advised that they were unable to upgrade the card. The only way to change to a regular card would be to close it and wait 6 months. In the mean time they told me it would be an idea to apply for a Bank of Scotland Card whilst I was without my Halifax. This went through fine and I was accepted with a good credit limit.
Months on I am now being told that I will never be able to hold another Halifax card so long as I have an active Bank of Scotland Card. Everybody I speak to in Halifax tell me different, often conflicting information.

Thats because the customer service advisors get scant training. They don't know whether you can have one of each or not, they haven't got a clue.
The answer is it can be done, I have one of each.
