What a lovely photo of her!!!. It makes my blood boil. Both my daughter and husband suffer from real depression and both have attempted suicide ( DD last year as some of you know) and when by beautiful funny clever daughter says "Mum I feel down and I still think about ending it sometimes" thats depression not what that F++ B+++++ has. She has lazyitis. I know there are a lot of people on benefits who need them but there are an awful lot who don't.0 -

What really annoys me is the amount of benefits claimants that are now complaining because they have to move because they are not allowed so much for rent :mad: If you can't afford to live somewhere you move, if we couldn't afford to continue paying for this house there would be no-one saying that we should get more money to allow us to continue living here, because we pay our way, even if it is one incredible struggle at times.
I have always said that benefits should be paid in vouchers, for essentials, not the sort of money that people get to allow them to get big tellies and lay around all day. Vouchers for food and clothes, reasonable rent paid to the landlord, if they want extras like alcohol and cigarettes they should go out and earn for them
Don't get me wrong, I know there's people that can't work, but we should not go giving big houses to fathers of 20 just cos they can't keep it zipped up, and benefits always used to be provided to tide people over, just so they could still live. Some of these people live in houses bigger than ours and have everything paid for, makes you wonder why you break your back trying to run a business and actually make money! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

The thing about rent rang a bell with me. My daughter's friend who is 22 and a single mum moved into a small house belonging to her Dad and gets about £500.00 benefit for that every month. She actually only pays him £250.00 and pockets the rest. She was moaning the other day that she only gets £17,000 a year in benefits and grants ( she is doing a degree of sorts) and my daughter said when they go shopping she spend £200 to £300 at a time. Her parents have room for her to live with them but why not live where you can live for free and get paid extra aswell!!0
