So I've been given free reign to make a cake for a 12 year old this Friday/Saturday, only specification 'boys birthday theme'. My question to you lovely lot is, what the hell do 12 year olds like nowadays? I asked my step nephew and he was too moody to answer my question, even when bribed with a delicious malteasers bar, the little git :)

    Bread and butter pickles?

    Shall I google it?:)

Definitely. The recipe I used will have either come from BBC Good Food or River Cottage. No idea why they're called bread and butter pickles though as they don't contain either :D

I couldn't find any was not sure where to look to be honest. Even looked in the alcohol aisle as thought they may be stocked there. :rotfl:

Your not the only one who couldnt find them either, looked all over the shop, even by the sandwiches, in the little fridges nowhere to be seen.

Yes besides minecraft, my kids love Mario Kart if you want a game theme.
They still like the Simpsons and Spongebob too, if you want a character cake. Or is he into Dr Who, that popular here too.....a tardis, or a Dalek?

......oh and family guy, but probably best not do that :o:D

DS2 has had the same spongebob cake for the past 3 years running :o

    A sports theme?

    Football:rotfl:

Football was all my nephew was interested in when he was 12.

Oh and anything that fired things like water pistols, sticky darts, ping pong balls. :rotfl:

My youngest (who is 19) loves teddy cakes…

He still takes his teddy to bed with him (even when he is working away!!)

Sometimes I wonder how he has got a girlfriend!!!
