yes i make a sugar syrup or for different flavours use fruit juices with a little extra sugar my boys love pears in cranberry juice they go a lovely pink and taste yummy.. you have to boil the jars in hot water to seal properly but they then keep for a good year..0 -
I have caved in and bought a sun newspaper...but I think I will go tomorrow in the hope that it all gets restocked overnight...
We really cant use that much fruit and veg up quickly but I guess we can make the exception for some stawberries and cherries.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

my lot are fussy so i remove the skin by scoring with a knife then leaving in hot water for a few mins, then remove stone and chop roughly it reduces the cooking time, cook gently
then add the lemon juice and sugar and cook until set.0 -
