I've never known that to happen. That said I only ever exceeded £15 on one occasion (after this rule was - supposedly - in force) quite some time ago and with the young male cashier didn't have any problem. Though the checkout seemed to beep one additional occasion more than my liking.0 -

I have exceeded it on rare occasions without problem, I read the terms and conditions the other day.
I also make sure I always take me receipt... just in case
