Barclays SAR explanation

Hi All,

My dad has today received his SAR response from Barclays of which I am going through for him.

Your help will be greatly appreciated in answering my queries.

1. On the Prequal PPI under BID policies my dad has one for First Plus, does my dad complain to Barclays about this?

2. On the retail account details it lists Barclay loans plus the First plus loan mentioned above and 2 monument visas.

My dad had 6 loans with Barclays some with PPI.

The Barclay loans show a "Y" or "N" under the account PPI Flag section, but the monument visas and first plus loan show "I" under PPI flag. What does the "I" stand for?

3. If my dad did have PPI on the monument visa which was sold to him in branch at Barclays, does that mean he complains to them and not monument?

What year was the FP loan taken out and do you have any paperwork for this?.

It is possible that this loan was sold by a broker and not FP directly, if this is the case then you need to contact FP and ask or look at the paperwork if you have it.

Not sure what the I means.

No, you have to complain to the seller of the insurance. Barclays don't have any liability.

Upon double checking the paperwork, Barclays did in fact sell the insurance for the First Plus loan, as my dad has already has been refunded the PPI on a complaint made earlier in the year. I got a bit confused with the account numbers and thought it was a loan that I was unaware of.


I will double check with them what the "I" stands for on the monument credit cards.

My dad is dyslexic and I am going through all of his loans and credit cards for him. So far I have got back 20k for him.
