Capital One Annoyance

in Credit cards
Shredding my pile of junk mail I always have that last peruse. Thinking I was about to shred a flyer from Cap One, it turned out to be a 'We will automatically upgrade your existing card UNLESS YOU TELL US BY THE 20 APRIL' Oh wow look at all the benefits for just a 'marginal increase' in interest rates!!! I phoned them to say well I don't want your new super duper card. Tough Luck they said you should have phoned to tell us. I am saying I did not request an upgrade, but by not contacting it does not imply my consent for you to do this. I think it is a very careful marketing [sneaky underhand practice if you ask me ] ploy and one which I am sure others have been caught out with. Be alert ! [I am writing a strong letter of complaint] and hopefully will close my account.

On the other hand Capital One let me have £15000 pounds of balance transfer for nine months at 0%. Worth about £480 after tax.
Sainsbury let me have up to £5000 of spends at 0% for a year. Capital One take back about £450 per month minimum repayment but also pay the same amount as a balance transfer to the sainsbury card.
Is this a capital idea................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0 -

Good idea. I have just got a Capital One Card for £11000 and also use a Sainbury 0% purchase card at a balance of £4000. The Sainsbury CC 0% for purchases finishes on Aug 1st but I could start BT'ing for the next few months to the Capital One card.
In fact as Capital One don't charge for BT's (As far as I know), I can keep the card maxed or nearly maxed out for the whole 18 months by paying off my Purchase cards each month.
Can anybody confirm this plan as I have not come across it before.0
