Installing outside electric socket.

I want to install a double weatherproof outside electric socket.

There is an existing interior double socket on the side wall of my house about 50cms from the rear wall. The other side of the wall to that would be an ideal place for the new socket.

Is there any reason why I shouldn't run a spur from the interior socket straight through the wall as described in this link?

The interior socket is about 50cm above floor level. The new exterior socket would be about 70cms above ground level.

The exterior socket would be used for an electric mower, a power washer, occasional lights etc.

The house is about ten years old with separate upstairs and downstairs rings, each individually RCD protected. I have no reason to think that the socket I plan to spur off is itself a spur. Do I need to check that?

Thanks.
