Student Finance Funding - Credit Checked?

Hi MSE,
Bit of a strange question this one, hope I've pointed it at the appropriate board. As so often seems to happens in life, a number of important issues affecting my future have all appeared at once to contend with each other. We have recently been approved for a mortgage and are currently in the no-man's land between offer and exchange. Obviously our advisor has given us the standard advice of 'no new credit/change to circumstances' between now and completion, lest the offer get pulled. Fair enough.
My problem is that I'm also hoping to start a part-time degree in September and have yet to submit my application to Student Finance England for the costs of the tuition, mostly because I'm not sure whether it involves them credit checking me in any way. I highly doubt that this would be the case (I expect they rely solely on your information given on the application form to means-test or whatever) but obviously at the same time I don't want to give our lender any excuse to withdraw the mortgage. So my question is: Has anyone had any recent experience of applying for funding from Student Finance, and does this involve a credit check that might spook our lender?
Thanks in advance,
Ace

No credit checks at all. Student loans don't get reported to CRA's in the UK either.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.
